The Dominican Republic is located near the Yucatan Peninsula and has some of the world’s most magnificent sceneries. It is a tropical paradise that is sunny and beautiful most of the year. It is located near the equator so it does get some interesting weather as well. It can be 90 degrees and sunny one moment and a torrential downpour of rain the next. It can be very hot and humid also.
Punta Cana offers some of the nicest resorts in the Caribbean. Most of the resorts offer all inclusive packages and family friendly atmospheres. A lot of hotels are also non kids friendly for those looking for a more adult resort with no kids running around.
The activities in the resorts are endless. You can sign up and take a tour of the city, kayak, rent a jet ski, parasail and much more. The Dominican Republic is known world-wide for its resort beaches, but you won’t find any of those on this list; we’re allergic to resorts. And what’s the point of going to a beach packed with tourists when there are so many alternatives! To help you break out of the all-inclusive bubble, we’ve come up with a list of the non-resort Dominican beaches closest to our hearts.
