If you are ever visiting the great state of Texas, be sure to stop in at one of the gems of the mid-west. Whether you stay for just one night or plan to relocate there for work, San Antonio is an interesting place. The first thing you will realize is that San Antonio is a very old town. Old with lots of character but old nonetheless. Residents of the city won’t have it any other way, but as a tourist from a big city, you might find it strange. Most of the buildings there are retrofitted for modern capabilities and amenities but have kept the old style and architecture. Some say the city has nothing but the Spurs and the riverwalk and that basically does sum it up. They have arguably the greatest basketball team to have ever played the game in the Spurs. The newly rebuilt stadium houses nearly 25k fans and every home game is sold out. There’s also the riverwalk. The riverwalk is a river that runs through their downtown. All along the river are shops and restaurants making it the ideal tourist destination. Be sure to take a tour of the river if you make it there. The tour is guided and filled with interesting facts about the historic town. The world fair was held there in 1925 too so you will see statues that have been gifted to the city by countries around the world. The architecture is also beautiful. But if you find yourself in San Antonio for more than a couple of days, you might just lose your mind. It can get pretty boring if you are used to a big city. San Antonio is also home to some of the largest companies in the mid-west. If you are looking for a career move, this might be a good place to check out if you’re looking for a shake- up.
