The area is best known for its history and archaeological interest, which include such things as the remains of Hattusas which was the center of the Hittite civilization, and one of the most important areas in Anatolia. Some of the main structures are still remaining in the city walls and gates. The tunnel and the Palace building are other great rental apartment structures to see while visiting. The open air temple known as Yazilikaya is 1 mile north of Bogazkoy and can be reached via public transportation or you can rent a car with your travel agent. This is the first Pantheon known in Anatolia and there are remains of queens, God, Goddesses, and kings.
