DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – Lucky for us, high-end retailers have been popping up around DTLA, but now there more options for visitors, workers and residents: Swedish retailer H&M opened last week at FIGat7th shopping center at 735 S. Figueroa Street.
The company is filling a 30,000-square-fot space with what it terms as a “flagship store.” When the 10-year deal was announced last October, property owner Brookfield Properties called it the largest fashion retail lease in DTLA in 20 years.
H&M opened its doors at noon on Thursday, May 1st. The store specializes in value-oriented apparel in a variety of styles, ranging from items with brash hipster prints to sleeker, more subdued dresses, suites and more. H&M, which was founded in Sweden in 1947, is one of two clothing stores filling large spaces in the mall this spring. Next on the roster for FIGat7th is Spanish retailer Zara. Also in the works for the shopping center is lingerie shop Victoria’s Secret.
